30.2% of B2B site sessions were impacted by frustration in 2022. Manufacturing sites provoked even more frustration (37.5%). Slow page loads were the leading cause of frustration, slamming the brakes on 18% of sessions.
With frustration common and attention spans dwindling, bounce rates for B2B held steady (and high) at 61.1%. They were particularly high in Software, rising +3.4% to an astonishing 70.8%.
When it comes to load times, every millisecond counts. B2B sites that took less than a second to load had an average bounce rate of 58.8%. Sites that took longer than a second had an average bounce rate of 64.3%.
Activity measures how much visitors are interacting with content (with scrolls, swipes, clicks, hovers and typing)—and B2B sites that generated higher activity from their visitors saw lower bounce rates and deeper sessions.
Desktop traffic accounted for 64.3% of traffic to B2B sites last year—but it’s a dwindling majority, down from 69.1% the previous year.
What’s more, mobile web traffic drove 31.9% of new visits to software sites (up +14.3% from 2021) and 61.3% of new visits to manufacturing sites.
